Paul is our Director and he heads up both the technical and sales sides of our business, as well as leading our team of highly-skilled IT experts.
In his role as our owner and manager, he works to ensure we deliver a quality IT service to our clients.
Prior to becoming an IT specialist and launching the business in 2001, Paul was a Quantity Surveyor in the Construction Industry and this gave him an excellent understanding of how the world of business works. This has also helped him when working closely with our clients as a consultant.
Outside the world of work, Paul enjoys spending time with his family and is a keen motorcyclist, cyclist and walker. He is also a Leader in a local church.
Lisa is one of our directors and when she’s in the office she looks after the Service Desk here at QSS.
She is an experienced helpdesk Team leader and, also, assists in the management of the business.
Lisa, who studied at Bridgwater College, was a team leader at Somerset County Council’s IT Service Desk, before joining us, so has lots of experience of the IT environment and assisting clients with their IT enquiries.
In her spare time, she enjoys baking, spending time with her family and Pilates.
Our Senior Engineer, Martin, is responsible for server installation, administration and maintenance. He also resolves some of the more complex requests that come in from clients to our help desk.
Martin is a graduate from Cardiff University and has a Degree with Honours in Computer Science. Prior to joining us, he was employed in Technical Support at Carphone Warehouse in Taunton where he used his considerable knowledge and expertise to fix phones and laptops for customers.
He also ran his own business repairing computers for private clients for a number of years as well, so is highly experienced in consultancy work.
In his spare time, he enjoys running, cycling and eating Jaffa cakes. He is famous in our office for eating lots of the latter and talking loudly on the telephone!
Ben is our Support Engineer and has been with us since 2016. As his job title suggests he provides our clients with everything from first line IT support to large project work, physical networking and deployments, as well as server and desktop maintenance.
Educated in North Devon, his first job after college was in IT support at a call centre. He spent three years there working his way up to IT Systems Administrator.
In his role, he was responsible for maintaining and building telephone and order systems and server and network maintenance, as well as reporting and general IT support for the call centre staff.
Ben then worked in his family’s finishes business, which focuses on using traditional building methods to restore listed buildings and heritage properties, for three years. This has given him a wonderful insight into working with SMEs especially those run by families.
In his spare time, Ben is into retro/classic cars and has owned a few including a 1985 Peugeot 205, a 1988 Vauxhall Nova and a 1989 Audi 80. He also enjoys going to car shows and watching motorsport, especially rallying, and has spent lots of time over in the Welsh forests spectating.
As a fan of history and the great outdoors, Ben can also be found visiting old castles, forts, abbeys and churches, slowly checking everything off the English Heritage, of which he is a member, list of attractions. He also loves to go for long walks and to the gym.
Matt provides our First Line Support. He ensures our clients’ business IT infrastructure is supported and maintained as well as offering efficient IT support to home and business users alike.
Matt studied for a BTEC Diploma at Bridgwater College and prior to joining us, he worked for 19 years at Polaris EPOS where he supported EPOS systems, point of sale equipment and software for the hospitality industry.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys mountain biking and walking in the wonderful Somerset countryside around us here in Bridgwater.
Julie is our Accounts Administrator, covering maternity leave. She manages our accounts function including our sales and purchase ledgers and payroll administration.
Julie has been a self-employed bookkeeper since 2010 working with a variety of clients offering a range of bookkeeping services through to completing self-assessment returns via HMRC.
She has a BTEC National Diploma in Business and Finance from East Devon College and has been employed within Accounting/Finance since leaving college. She has also completed a professional qualification specialising in credit control as an associate member of the Institute of Credit Management.
Julie loves working in her accounting role but also has an active home life including completing a seven-day intensive course in 2017 to obtain her full motorbike licence.
Motorbiking is now her biggest hobby and she rides out on a BMW F800GT.
When she’s not out on her bike, she enjoys reading, especially Patrick Ness books. A hobby which she shares with her children, allowing them to compare their thoughts.
Julie and her family also have a dog called Hettie. They walk her for exercise and enjoy quality family time together in the process.
Andy is a First Line Support Engineer. He makes sure our clients are supported with regards their IT requirements and that their business’ IT infrastructures are maintained.
He also provides effective IT support to both our home and business users.
Before joining us, Andy worked for several years with Viridor Waste Management as a first and, then, second line regional engineer. He also spent 14 years with a business ISP, Easynet Ltd, in various IT roles, the last of which was arranging the provision of business data lines with different levels of broadband connectivity.
Prior to this, he was employed for 12 years with BT. His last role there was as a Project and Procedure Manager.
When he’s not at work, Andy enjoys riding his motorbike, a Honda ST1300 Pan European, flying his drone and indulging in 3D printing. He is currently studying for a drone pilot’s licence.
